Well, It doesn't suck like S.t. Anger. But this Album blows and flush at it's own merit in the middle of nowhere.

So many people is expecting a "Master Of Puppets II" or a "Ride The Lightning II" and that is simply not possible... get over it. But to say that "72 Seasons" is worse than "St. Anger" is absurd too. All said and done this is a pretty good effort with some highlights.

Has some good songs, but mastering is terrible, no dynamics, brick walled to fuck.

Overblown, they need to self-edit ASAP.
But overall some very nice riffs. Some thrashers, some Load & groove, and some nice Doomed Metal (Inamorata).

Cut two duds out and I gained a pleasant 10 track album.

If you took the band that recorded Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning, and Master of Puppets and then cut their balls off this is what you would get.

If you cut your teeth on Black album Metallica and later maybe this is fine for you. But I grew up on the real thing and this just makes me sad. They're like the GD Nickleback of metal now.

It's not terrible. The production is weak AF and lifeless. James is a much better singer than he used to be and Kirk's soloing is still pretty good but I can't say I like much else. If it had early Metallica production I would probably enjoy it much more. But as is I'm struggling to get through even a first listen.

I'm sure some will find this assessment too harsh and that's fine. But I hold the best -- or what used to be the best -- to a high standard. And this just doesn't cut it for me. If anyone else likes it I'm happy for you. I'll be off trying to decide how I'm feeling about the pretty good but not great Overkill record.

Thanks for all the FLAC versions. True, they are not what they used to be.

Unfortunately you are right.
The EP's gave us a glimpse of it!

When a band releases "atomic bombs" like Master Of Puppets or Ride The Lightning or And Justice for all, we expect better than this tasteless, energyless thing. To be stored with Load, Reload and the 50% moldy pieces of Death Magnetic and Hardwire...

In my opinion, many points above the mega-overblown mess that was the last Iron Maiden.
